Summer is approaching faster than I ever imagined, and it’s leaving me—and my colleagues at work—a bit confused. Even though it feels like New Year’s Eve was just three months ago, it’s already time to prepare for the summer months and discover some great spots around Varna.
Mono Loco Tacos & Tequila
You’ll instantly feel the Mexican vibes as soon as you step into this place—and what’s more refreshing than a classic Margarita paired with some guacamole? The whole place has this laid-back, colorful energy that instantly makes you feel like you’ve escaped to Cancún—only you’re actually in Varna. No matter the fact that the menu is pretty simple, you can easily find all your favourite things from Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend the Quesadilla Con Carne—it’s super satisfying, especially with the cheese sauce and a bit of Tajín on top. The location is even better, it is located next to “Shishkova square”, in Varna’s charming Greek neighborhood. The venue is perfect for a casual gathering or a special date. I visited with my boyfriend, and we ended our evening with a peaceful walk by the sea—an experience that made the night truly memorable.

Nomad
These are hands down the best sandwiches you’ll find in Varna. Please note that there are two places in Varna, but only one operates during the whole year (the truck). while the second is a summer-only spot conveniently located near the beach. What makes the second place extra special is the nostalgic atmosphere. On the other hand, the variety of sandwiches will amaze you, especially the interesting combinations they offer. My favorite one is “Nameless”, which ingredients are marinated pulled pork, white truffle, plum, pickles and mozzarella – I know what you think “it sounds like a wild pregnancy craving”, but believe me this is an unbelievably good combination, which needs to be tasted. Their range of sauces is perfect for dipping your crispy French fries, which come as the ideal sidekick to every sandwich.

Wake Park
The final spot on this list isn’t just one place—it’s an entire area buzzing with energy, great bars, and mouth-watering street food. It’s the perfect hangout for digital nomads, hipsters, or anyone looking for a chill place, where they can enjoy the nice weather and the sound of the waves. You can find around six trucks there and try different cuisine – from Mexican and American to Spanish and fresh, simple seafood. It’s a fantastic choice for warm summer nights spent with good company, enjoying the casual vibe and tasty bites.
