Let’s begin with the first brunch cafe, which was opened in Varna. The bohemian atmosphere, supported with the artistic graffiti on the walls are for sure something that catches your eyes. Of course, the variety of food options cannot be missed: “The High Stack American pancakes” are a real masterpiece, which is keeping the leading positions for the “fluffiest pancakes”since 2020. In case you are not a big sugar fan, then you can choose “B.L.T Sandwich”, which is a typical classic combo of bacon, poached egg, lettuce, tomato and avo mayo. I will not continue mentioning the rest of the menu, because this article will get longer than I was planning to be.
The cafe has become such a local favorite that finding a table can be a bit of a challenge—so speed and a little patience might be necessary. However, the owner has made a very smart decision of opening two more locations, especially after the big amount of interest.

I will not hide the fact that this place is my personal favourite. It was opened in 2023, but it is already one of the most visited ones. You can simply find it in one small and cozy street, which is near to the Cathedral (Varna Center Odessos, 30 Bratya Shkorpil Street, 9000 Varna). Speaking of the Cathedral, during the warmer months, you’ll find beautifully arranged outdoor tables that offer a breathtaking view of the golden chapels—a truly stunning sight of this masterpiece of art. During the colder months, you will also find yourself in a very cozy atmosphere on the second floor of the cafe. The staff is also making a lot of efforts to decorate the place in a very seasonal way, which can be an additional point for you, when it comes to instagramable pictures.
Probably the last paragraph was more than enough to convince you to choose Cafe Lave for your next weekend, however, in order to give you more reasons to go, I will mention some of the menu varieties. On weekends, you’ll find an irresistible selection of sweet treats, such as pistachio croissants, chocolate chip cookie dough, and cinnamon rolls, as well as some occasional Scandinavian desserts that are a rare delight. On the other hand, there are savoury meals. My favourite one is “Croque Monsieur with Mushrooms”, the size of the portion will scare you at first, but when it comes to the taste, you’ll be amazed at how easily you can finish it. The avocado toast should be taken into consideration as well. Especially when it comes to such a magical presentation.
As I said for the previous place, I will stop flattering this place as well, because I need to leave some space for the next one.
Wholehearted Cafe
As you probably can conclude from the name, this cafe will definitely warm your heart by reuniting you with your favourite people and sharing a comfortable meal (which is also very beautifully presented).
I personally love this place, when it comes to the food but also for the rustic atmosphere and the well combined colours, which gives you this cozy vibe of feeling at home (Varna Center Odessos, 29 Tsaribrod Str., 9000 Varna). I had the chance to celebrate my 25th birthday there with four of my closest people and believe me, we definitely felt like “Sex and the city” girls sharing and laughing about the ups and downs in life.
If I can offer you one piece of advice, it’s this: don’t miss the latte. You will recognize it by the foam and the wonderful smell, which welcomes you when you enter the cafe. And as for the savory options, the Focaccia Sandwich with Stracciatella and Dry-Cured Ham and the Vegan Magic are nothing short of mind-blowing.
